My favourite urban legend would have to be the one with the carpet installer. He puts down the carpet, but when he reaches for his pack of smokes, he can't find them. Seeing a lump in the floor and assuming it's his cigarette package, he hammers it down, not wanting to rip up the carpet and start again. As he walks from his house to his car, he notices that his cigarettes are right near the windshield. He glances back at the house, noticing the empty hamster cage with the door open.

I also love the one about the babysitter who does acid and puts the baby in the oven instead of the chicken.
